Coach Barela has done a fantastic job creating and running training sessions for the littles, and when I look at the group from my session, all I see is smiles! Working on getting touches, and scoring goals. Fundamentals and fun are what Coach Barela brings every session! The first scheduled game is September 12 at Boddington Park. I know I am excited to hear the results of how the kiddos did on achieving their goals!

The U13 Boys team has been training for a while leading up to their first competitive season in the Silver Division with a big emphasis on conditioning and fundamentals. It paid off! They had two games scheduled this season in Northern Colorado and were able to reschedule to get both games on the same day. They won both games! Total goals for was 9 and against was 2. Maybe they were put at the wrong level, we will find out as the season progresses. The team goals moving forward will be playing out of the back and transferring play between the vertical channels. This means that they will deal with additional pressure in their defending third, and concentrate on playing the ball on the right, middle, and left sides of the field. Playing under pressure and opening vision to see the entire field will be excellent goals for their development.

The U12 Boys team took to training early as well. Focused on getting the new players to understand the playing style and for the coaches to understand how to work with the new players. So much psychology goes into our every interaction with the players and we make it a point to meet the players where they are. The team had a tournament mid-August where they finished as Finalists, losing in penalties to a very good Crestmoor/Cranmer team. There was one game played on August 29 and the team was able to play its high press and high intensity style. It all worked well as the players gelled into a team. The team was set up with individual player minigoals and all of the players got closer to playing the style that will develop them most efficiently. Final score was 5-2, with outstanding play from our new keeper Connor Hyskell, as well as the rest of the team.

Finally, I want to thank the parents. Without them we can't have training or games.
